My Best Friends Wedding: A "Tree of Life" Inspired 3-tier Wedding Cake.
This cake is actually completely edible, but only for show. The bottom 2 layers of this cake are actually not cake at all, but rice crispy treats, and the top layer is vanilla bean cake with lemon curd and raspberry preserves for the cake tasting and photo op tradition. Sheet cakes were made for service to the 100+ guests. The bride and groom chose 3 flavors to serve: Dark Chocolate Cake with Salty Caramel, Red Velvet with Cream Cheese Frosting and Carrot Cake with Citrus Cream Cheese Frosting. The cake is covered in smooth vanilla buttercream and decorated with fresh flowers and lacquered real leaves.
